WiredToClose exists because the real estate industry deserved a resource built by someone who actually understands both sides -- the technology and the transaction. Not a tech blogger who discovered real estate. Not an agent who discovered ChatGPT last Tuesday.
I'm Janet Nowlin, Broker/Owner of NextHome Integrity Realty in Mechanicsville, Virginia. I started my career in IT, spending 25+ years in programming, relational database design, and UX management and consulting. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business and Information Systems. From there I moved into education, teaching for 15 years and earning a Master's degree in Education and a certification in Administration, including National Board Certification in mathematics. Real estate came next, starting in 2018.
I came to real estate in 2018. I came to AI the way most people do -- curious, skeptical, and then completely convinced once I actually used it in my business. The difference is I had enough of a technical background to understand what it was actually doing, and enough of a teaching background to explain it to people who didn't.
WiredToClose started as a resource I wished had existed when I was figuring this out. Every guide I found was either written by someone who had never sold a house, or it was a vague "AI is changing everything" think piece with no actual tools in it. So I built what I wanted to read.
The resources here are technically grounded, pedagogically sound, and tested in an actual working brokerage. Not curated from a listicle.
Janet Nowlin, WiredToCloseI also chair the NextHome Franchise Advisory Technology Committee, which gives me national-level visibility into where real estate tech is actually heading -- not just what vendors are pitching. I serve on the CVRMLS MLS Committee, teach real estate pre-licensing at Moseley Real Estate School, and host What's Happening in Hanover, a monthly networking event reaching roughly 1,000 Realtors in Central Virginia.
I've been honored as a Circle of Excellence member by the Richmond Association of REALTORS since 2019. This recognition is not about production volume -- it is awarded for community service, professional development, and a commitment to lifelong learning. I'm not listing it to brag. I'm listing it because the question I get asked most often is "why should I trust your recommendations?" That's why.

I volunteer with James River Greyhounds in outreach, education, and adoption counseling. My two retired racers are Rosie (PJ Steamroller) and Skye (PJ Sky High), twins born February 15, 2017. They are the best dogs on the planet and I will not be taking questions.
I competed from 1972 to 1983 and I am still an avid NCAA gymnastics fan. It taught me how to fall and get back up, which turns out to be useful in both real estate and tech.
I love gadgets, robotics, Legos, and puzzles of all kinds. This is also how I approach technology -- as a puzzle worth solving, not a threat worth fearing. It makes the work a lot more fun.
